Our mission

We preserve practical expat knowledge for the Philippines, for free.

Some people try to make money by gatekeeping paperwork help for expats. ArchipelagoExpat does the opposite: it preserves useful community knowledge, keeps it accessible, and prevents abuse, vandalism and promotional manipulation.

What makes us different

Free by design

Practical paperwork knowledge should be accessible to everyone. No paywalls, no lead capture.

Moderated & transparent

Every change is recorded, with author and date. Moderators review sensitive content.

Community-owned

Built by expats who have already been through it. Knowledge is preserved, not sold.

Protected from abuse

We revert promotional edits, vandalism and hidden lead capture inside the guides.

Bilingual from day one

English and Spanish, with separate URLs and realistic translation states: original, draft, reviewed, outdated. Languages are never mixed on the same page.
